About MegaConference

Where all facets of the disability community gather.

MISSION AND HISTORY

MegaConference

Since 2002, the Tennessee Disability MegaConference has been a gathering among many disability advocacy organizations, state agencies, and service providers. Volunteers from across the state collaborate to plan this event that reaches well beyond the attendees. The Arc Tennessee coordinates the two-day gathering of national speakers, local professionals, exhibitors, self-advocates, family members and professionals in the disability field.

“I attended as a mom to a child with IDD before I started working for The Arc TN, and I was amazed with how much I learned in one conference. So many important things to help with his quality of life (and ours) were immediately put into place after attending our first Mega Conference. I learn something new every year!”

Jen Aprea

My daughter and I both attended Mega a few years ago.  As a 20-year-old self-advocate, she enjoyed attending presentations with her peers and learning about topics important to her age group.  The presentations I attended were informative and well executed.

Susan Carr

“The Mega Conference is an event in Nashville that’s greatly anticipated by everyone. The experience is all-around welcoming, and break-out sessions are educational, inspiring, and motivating. Even after months of social-distancing with COVID-19, Mega Conference remains a opportunity for the community to connect.”

Frank Meeuwis

“The Tennessee Disability MegaConference is important because we get to hear how individuals with disabilities are advocating and living their lives.  To me, they are the experts in bringing about awareness of what successful participation in the community should look like.”

Linda Brown

“Attending the Mega Conference opened my eyes to the various supports that were available for June to be successful. The presentations, keynote speakers and the wealth of resources were amazing!”

Annette Graves

“Mega Conference is an opportunity to come and bring friends, family members, peers and support professionals from all over the state that care about or have intellectual and developmental disabilities. It’s an amazing to be a part of something big and wonderful!”
